Wish List

Christmas 2024

I had never noticed the details of the large-scale windows at the front of the church until I was asked to paint a Christmas image around the theme, “Wish List.” I experienced ebbs and flows of anxiety, excitement, and joy throughout the assembling of items for each window panel. I chose to use a combination of graphic prints to make window clings, along with 3D props and lights. As I worked, I realized the windows had a smoky tint, which meant I should have used primarily white lettering and larger, brighter lights to ensure the message would shine through. Despite a few obstacles, I’m incredibly grateful for the new experiences this project brought me: designing a Christmas wreath, creating a large-scale window display, and organizing the collection of financial donations.

My purpose was to create a public art display to bring cheer to a community seeking healing and celebration during the holidays and help reshape minds and hearts for the goodness of the Gospel. I trust that I have accomplished God’s will to bless others with the gifts and talents He has given me.
